Cetus is a swimming club in Espoo. The club was founded 21.11.2004 by merging four Espoo swimming clubs : Espoo Uimaseura (EUS), Laaksolahden Viri (Lavi), Simmis Espoo (SEE) and Tapiola Swimmers (Tapu). Cetus will continue the over more than a half-century long traditions of its founders to advance the top-level sport, youth water sports and fitness exercise facilitator.
Cetus's aim is to produce high-quality water sports and swimming sports for citizens of Espoo. The club provides groups to practice and compete in all Finnish Swimming Federation sports (racing swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and diving).
For members Cetus creates conditions to succeed in swimming in the sport at national level and, if possible, to achieve international sporting success in these events.
The city and Cetus in cooperation
We provide high quality pool guard services in Central Espoo (Keski-Espoo) swimming hall. Cetus has supplied Espoo with pool guard services for over a decade.
Cetus Espoo Association has organized comprehensive schools swimming instruction from the beginning of 2009. To education includes day-care centers for preschool children and primary school students in the classes up to sixth grade.
Instruction is given in Espoonlahti and Central Espoo (Keski-Espoo) swimming hall. The overall objective of education is to get kids excited about swimming through a positive atmosphere.
