Baby swimming

Baby swimming is a shared moment of exercises and play between babies and parents, monitored by a trained instructor, in warm water (+32 degrees). Baby swimming is a joyful family hobby where the baby is in the main focus. Each activity should be happening on the terms of the baby, so that the child will later see the element of water as something positive. 

During baby swimming the child will not learn how to swim without parental support, but the child will learn how to play and dive in the water with the assistance of the parents. Baby swimmers benefit from the diving reflex (laryngeal chemoreflex), which occurs for babies under the age of 6 months. In baby swimming, we will also practice many other skills example balancing, gripping by hand, and social interaction.

One lesson lasts 30 minutes and the price is 18€. When there are more than one child per family, the price is 22€/ lesson. The bill will be sent by post or online to customer’s net bank. The customer will receive two invoices during the season (January-February-March and April-May). The amount to be paid depends on the organized lessons per period. 

One to three absences in a row do not affect the course billing. Longer absences (4-6 times in a row) can be compensated if there is a doctor’s certificate of absence. You may be absent six times in a row. After that billing continues normally. The certification must be sent in six weeks from getting ill.

When you wish to terminate the baby or family swimming during the season you have to inform the office by phone or e-mail, at least four weeks before your last swimming lesson date. Therefore, the date we receive your e-mail or your phone call will determine the date from where the termination period of four weeks begins.

Baby swimming

Baby swimming is a joyful,​ safe,​ shared play moment between a child and parents. Baby doesn’t learn to swim by him/herself,​ but to play and dive with parental support. 

Family swimming

Family swimming is a continuation group for baby swimming. You may attend to the group with a child,​ who has turned one year. Under school aged siblings may also attend if there are available places in the group.

Sibling group

Sibling group is meant for families where there are a 3months-1,​5 year old baby and under school aged sibling(s). Sibling swimming is a combination of baby- and family swimming,​ and all the children will be given tasks under the swimming lesson. 

Play and splash

Child-adult swimming schools and Play and Splash swimming schools help children getting used to water. We teach children important pre–swimming skills by means of stories and playing. Play and Splash swimming schools give good preparedness in starting a swimming school. The courses are arranged in the teaching pool on in the therapy pool and the children are taught 30 minutes at a time.

Child-adult Swimming school

Child-adult swimming school is meant for children who still need parental support in playing in the pool and functioning in a group. During the course child gets used to water in a safe environment, getting also used to group functioning.

Play and Splash

Play and splash -course is a first swimming course, where a child goes without a parent. Child will get used to spending time in the water and acquires the foundation to learn to swim. Participant has now how to operate in swimming hall.

Swimming schools

In swimming schools child will practice elementary skills in swimming. We teach also the important pre-skills for swimming such as floating, gliding, and jumping in to the pool. When a child completes swimming school he/she will get a diploma and a FSL’s (Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation) badge accounting to the skills achieved. The teaching takes place mainly in the teaching pool but as the skills develop we will spend more time in the deep pool. Our instructors are educated by FSL. We recommend the use of swimming goggles for the participants.

Swimming school for beginners

Swimming school for beginners -group is meant for children who are at least 4 years old and who already can act courageously in a group following the teacher’s advice. Child has to be also able to act bravely in the water. In the group we teach skills such as diving, floating, gliding and also basic skills in swimming. Child attends Swimmin school for beginners -course without a parent. One lesson lasts 30 minutes.

Swimming school 1

In Swimmin school 1 children will practice elementary swimming skills such as swimming position, breathing and kicking. Goals of the course: To be able to float, glide, dive and swim 5 meters (elementary front- and backstroke) and a jump to the teaching pool with feet first.

Swimmin school 2

In Swimming school 2 participants will develop swimming skills further, and practice body control and breathing technique. Goals of the course: To be able to swim 15 meters (elementary front-and backstroke) and to jump in to the deep pool without assistance.

Swimmin school 3

In Swimming school 3 participants will develop swimming skills and gain confidence in swimming in the deep pool. Goals of the course: 25 meters swimming ability in a deep pool (25m elementary front stroke and 25m elementary backstroke).

Improve your technique

Water rally-courses are versatile courses in swimming and they are a suitable for children who have already gone to swimming schools (beginner 1-3 levels). Practicing the basics of different swimming sports and supplying challenges for children are the essence of these courses – without forgetting to have fun of course! During the different course levels child will become familiar with waterpolo, diving, synchronized swimming and the techniques of different swimming styles.

On course of levels 1 and 2 we will practice basic skills such as breathing technique and body control. During levels 3 and 4 we will train overall techniques and performances as a whole. When the child has completed Water rally-course, she/he will get a diploma and a pin that accounts to his/her skills. Our instructors are educated and trained by Finnish Swimming Association. Courses are arranged in a deep pool.

Water rally 1

During the course we will practice right swimming position, breathing technique during swimming and body control in the water. On the course child can merit a Frog pin.

Water rally 2

During the course we will deepen the skills learned during Water rally 1, such as body control in the water, right swimming position and right kind of breathing technique.

Water rally 3

During the course we will practice swimming in more comprehensive matter. Breaststroke and butterfly stroke will also become familiar.

Water rally 4

During the course we will deepen the skills learned during Water rally 3, and comprehensive swimming techniques will become even more familiar.

Technique course for children

This is a course for children that already know how to swim. We practice the different swimming techniques (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly).

Swimming as a hobby (+6y)

You can continue swimming as a hobby even without any competitive goals. This possibility is offered in the form of hobby groups, Muuvi & Way afternoon activity groups and summer camps. A regular swimming hobby teaches the child - a part from swimming of course - many important social skills and persistence. Swimming develops aerobic condition and swimming ability in general ensures a better water safety.

Sportscamps are arranged during summertime on weekdays from Monday to Friday. Camps last one week. Sportscamps are about swimming and playing games

Muuvi & Wau

WAU and Muuvi are afternoon activity for 7-12-year old children.

Discover new sports (+6y)

Variety of different swimming sports offer a possibility to continue one's swimming hobby and improve different kinds of swimming skills. We arrange several courses by which you will get to know to different sports, for example platform diving, life saving and syncronized swimming. The goal is to have fun and learn new things. Most of the courses suit also for side of Water rally. 


During Vesis- course child gets to know to the basics of water polo and strengthens his/her swimming skills. We focus in basics of water polo by means of playing and having fun. 

Synchronized swimming

Synchronized swimming is a versatile team sport which requires a lot of stamina, strength and skill. We arrange basic courses in synchronized swimming for children who are able to swim in a deep pool.  

Olympic diving

Olympic diving is an aesthetic judging sport, which is performed alone or with a pair. We arrange courses for beginners and also for little more advanced divers.

Snorkel diving

Snorkel diving is diving with basic equipment (other equipment are not used).

Junior Life Saver

Junior Life Saver courses are meant for children who are already 7 years old, and interested in developing their skills in Life Saving. 

Adult courses
Beginner’s courses for adults

Swimming ability is an important skill for all of us. Swimming is also good and effective form of exercise. On the Beginners’ swimming courses we will teach gaining confidence for controlling oneself in the water and of course the basic skills in swimming. Participants are to be at least 15 years of age. The beginner 1-courses are arranged in a teaching pool where the water temperature is 27-29 celcius degrees. During Beginner 2 and 3-courses the participants will be swimming more and more in the deep pool. We always respect the ablitities and courage of the participants. 

Beginner level 1

Starting level requirements: Participant has courage to take a dip in a water. As goals of the course for the participants are to get used to enjoying the water, and to be able to float, glide, swim 5 meters, and to be able to dive under the water.

Beginner level 2

Starting level requirements: 5 meters swimming ability and the ability to dive under water.

Beginner level 3

Starting level requirements: 15 meter’s swimming ability (back and front) inthe deep pool. 

Swimming techniques for adults

During swimming technique courses we teach the basic techniques of different swimming styles and sharpen them to be even smoother. We also teach the turns and starts of the different swimming styles. You can choose a longer course for learning all the four swimming styles, or shorter one to just concentrate on one style. Please, note also the different course levels. 

Swimming technique course 1 

As a goal of the course is to master the basics of back- breast-, free- and butterfly styles.

Swimming technique course 2

 During the course we will sharpen the techniques and turns of all the four swimming styles.

Freestyle technique 1

Goal of the course is to learn the techniques of freestyle (crawl) swimming.

Breast stroke technique course

Learn and sharpen the technique of breast stroke starting from the basics as the right position and breathing technique.

Freestyle technique 2

During the course we will sharpen the technique and turn of the Freestyle (crawl) swimming.

Swimming as a hobby

You may want to continue your swimming as a hobby after technique courses. For that there is a condition swimming group that meets once a week. You may also want to ask additional information about Masters- swimming. In Condition swimming group we will sharpen the swimming techniques and turns, and practice long distance swimming and do different kinds of exercices. We will swim 1000-2000 meters each training time.

Water exercising

Welcome to enjoy exercising in the pool with us! Water gymnastics, water running and hydrobic are effective but safe ways to exercise, and suit for everybody. Water’s resistance makes the exercise efficient but due to the floatability it doesn’t strain the joints. 

Water gymnastics

Water gymnastics is effective and refreshing exercise in the water with a stable heart rate.


Hydrobic is effective and refreshing exercise in the water with music.


Powerhydrobic is a bit more effective exercise than its little sister hydrobic. 

Aqua running

Aqua running is effective and refreshing exercise in the water. We use running belts as help implement.

Lasten ja nuorten tekniikkakurssi (+12v.)

Lasten ja nuorten tekniikkakurssi on tarkoitettu uimataitoisille lapsille ja nuorille, jotka pärjäävät syvässä altaassa uiden vähintään 50 metriä yhtäjaksoisesti omalla tyylillään ja pitävät uimisesta. Aiempaa osallistumista Vesiralleihin tai muille kursseille ei vaadita. Kurssilla tutustutaan eri uintilajien tekniikoihin (vapaa-, rinta-, ja selkäuinti), lähtien liikkeelle uintiasennosta ja oikeasta hengitystekniikasta.
