Ville Oura has been named General Manager of Cetus Espoo as of March 1st, 2019. Oura will be responsible for athletic success of Cetus and managing operations according to club strategy and directives from the board of Cetus. He will report to the Chairman of Cetus, Kalle Rasinmäki.
Ville Oura is a 42-year-old father of three with a strong background in competitive swimming and water polo. He has won several Finnish championships in both swimming and water polo and has, among many other achievements, been twice honoured as the Finnish Water Polo Player of the Year. During his competitive swimming career, Ville represented Tapiolan Uimarit, one of the founding clubs of Cetus.
Ville has worked for the City of Espoo Sports and Exercise Services for the past 20 years, with 15 as a manager. Most recently, he’s been serving as Field Manager for Southern Espoo. Ville has also been actively involved in the operations of the Helsingfors Simsällskap (HSS) swimming club, including acting as the team manager of the HSS top-tier swim team. Oura is well-connected within the Finnish competitive swimming scene.

Cetus Espoo is Finland’s largest and most successful swimming club in recent years. In addition to competitive sports, the club organises a wide variety of courses and provides swimming instruction in Espoo. Every year, Cetus provides activities to around 25,000 Espoo residents.
