Swimming session for upcoming first graders
Swimming lessons for upcoming first graders will once again be organized in summer 2026. These groups are intended for children who will start school in autumn 2026 and cannot yet swim, and who have not attended swimming school before. It is important that the child feels comfortable joining the group independently.
Each lesson lasts 30 minutes, and the swimming school is held in a teaching pool. Guardians may register their child, who will start first grade, for two swimming lessons. Registration must be completed separately for each session. All lessons have the same content. The swimming lessons are free of charge.
Starting level requirements
The child must be able to function in a group under the guidance of a swimming instructor and be comfortable entering the pool without a parent. The guardian is responsible for the child in the changing rooms and shower areas and must accompany the child to the poolside. Swimming instructors will meet the children at the pool and are responsible for instruction and pool safety; otherwise, the child remains under the guardian’s responsibility.
If the guardian has paid the swimming hall entrance fee, they may go swimming during the lesson. Otherwise, guardians are required to leave the pool area.
Objectives
Lisätä lapsen valmiuksia osallistua ensimmäisellä luokalla koululaisten uinninopetukseen oman luokan mukana. Uimaopetuskerroilla harjoitellaan kastautumista, vedessä liikkumista, kuplien puhaltamista veteen ja tutustutaan erilaisiin uintivälineisiin tarinoiden ja leikkien avulla.
Ryhmiä järjestetään ajalla 1-17.6 (Leppävaara ja Matinkylä) ja 13.7-6.8 (Leppävaara ja Keski-Espoo)
Kesän uintikerrat tulevat varattaviksi 11.5 alkaen.
